Over the past couple of weeks, your social media feed has been filled with cute little avatars, aesthetically pleasing rooms, and QR codes for Bondee accounts. Everyone has been enjoying creating their virtual world in Bondee, but some netizens have pointed out a concern for users: the NFT and blockchain elements of Bondee. Users and non-users alike have been engaging in discourse on the merits of its blockchain features and whether it’s harmful to the environment. So we did a quick dive to answer your questions about Bondee and NFTs.

The quick answer, it seems, is yes. Bondee is set to integrate non-fungible tokens (NFT) and blockchain elements. At the moment, you might not see it on the app yet. But Bondee’s original privacy policy makes mention of NFT products and blockchain wallets under “Your Purchase Information.”
However, when Bondee updated its privacy policy last January 29, such mention was removed from the document.
While Bondee is free to download, users can make in-app purchases for a currency called “B-Beans.” The B-Beans can be purchased with real cash at the following prices:
As it’s not yet officially rolled out, it’s unclear where exactly these B-Beans can be used other than “to purchase NFT products publicly available on the Platform for yourself or your friend.”
For reference, Bondee’s own Privacy Policy page states that B-Beans will be used to purchase NFT products.https://t.co/e6NDOddX5K pic.twitter.com/qGT0HrZG9g

However, several outfits are labeled as available for a “limited free trial.” So some users speculate that the B-Beans may possibly be used to purchase outfit options and maybe even furniture in Bondee.
As of writing, the NFT and blockchain elements of Bondee are not yet active — or at least not yet accessible to users. Since it’s not yet rolled out, it seems that users have not yet created the NFT and blockchain elements. In order to use such elements, you need to buy, sell, trade, and own products and assets. As users have yet to do so, they have not been using such elements yet. But it is important to note that Bondee is a metaverse, which means it will eventually develop and roll out its NFT elements.
I’m not trying to be a party pooper. Just putting this out there for people who care about this kind of stuff.
If you don’t plan on interacting with the crypto and NFT features anyway, then this shouldn’t stop you from enjoying Bondee.

Other netizens compared Bondee to other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, which now also have blockchain integration that allows you to purchase NFT assets.
Over the weekend, screenshots circulated on social media, alleging Bondee has leaked credit card information and labeling the app as a “scam.” However, thus far, the app has only collected a user’s mobile number upon registration.
Metadream, the tech company behind Bondee, issued a statement assuring users of their data privacy. They said the allegations are “false and untrue” as the app does not collect financial information like credit card or bank account details. The company added that they have “undertaken a precautionary review” of their systems, which they assure keeps users’ data “safe and secure.”
