Pinoys rejoiced at the news that Disney+ is finally landing on our shores on November 17. Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for movies and TV shows from Disney’s iconic brands including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star. Subscribers can enjoy a vast library of global, regional, and Asian language content right at their fingertips and in the comfort of their homes. Here are some of the movies, series, and docus you should watch out for on the platform.
If you’re a huge Pixar fan but life got in the way and you didn’t get to watch some movies in the cinema, Disney+ has got you covered. You can watch beloved Pixar movies like Coco, Luca, Soul, and even new ones like Turning Red and Lightyear. The kids (and the kids at heart) will love this for sure!
Subscribers get full access to Disney+ Originals and exclusives like Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Moon Knight, and Loki; Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor; Hocus Pocus 2 and the upcoming Willow and Disenchanted.
A Marvel marathon? Yes, please! The platform hosts almost all Marvel movies including Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther, Thor: Love and Thunder, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. In case you’re up for a rewatch, you can do that anytime on Disney+.
Disney+ gives its subscribers access to iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios’ movies including the Oscar-winning Encanto, the live-action reimagining of Pinocchio, as well as animated classics including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Mulan, Raya and the Last Dragon, The Lion King, Zootopia and more.
If you’re a docu enthusiast, you’ll be glad to know there’s plenty of that here. Disney+ will also have documentaries and specials from National Geographic including Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted, Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, and more. Will there be true crime documentaries? We’ll just have to wait and see.
And if you’re a film buff, Disney+ has a special treat for you. There will be a specially curated Star content selection on the platform that includes Emmy Award-winning shows Grey’s Anatomy, Only Murders in The Building, NCIS, Dopesick, The Bear, The Simpsons, and The Kardashians.
Star Wars fans, rejoice. If you don’t already own a copy of the movie, a subscription to Disney+ will make things easier for you. They’ve got all Star Wars movies, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
BTS ARMY, get excited. Disney+ houses content like BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA and IN THE SOOP: Friendcation. You can now rewatch a BTS concert in HD and rewind as many times as you want when your bias smiles on stage.
There will also be a number of K-drama titles on the platform including Big Mouth (Lee Jong Suk, Im Yoon Ah), Snowdrop (Jung Hae In, Jisoo), Soundtrack #1 (Park Hyung Sik, Han So Hee), and Doctor Lawyer (So Ji Sub, Lim Soo Hyang).
Those titles are just the tip of the iceberg of what Disney+ has in store for its Pinoy subscribers once it officially launches on November 17. As for subscriptions, there are two options:
