Pet lovers will be heartbroken to know that a number of dogs at Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte are in danger of being euthanized on April 1, 2022. To prevent this, an animal rescue non-profit organization is calling for those willing to adopt and rescue the dogs. Here’s how you can help save a life.
Community Alliance for Paws — Cabadbaran, an animal rescue non-profit organization, posted a plea for help last March 25. The post said that “all unclaimed impounded dogs at Cabadbaran City veterinarian pound will be euthanized on April 1, 2022.” According to the post, picking up strays was a city ordinance since unclaimed animals pose a “health risk to the community and a danger to roads.” However, since the vet pound is a small facility, they sometimes resort to euthanizing unclaimed dogs to avoid overcrowding.
What dog lover’s heart wouldn’t bleed at the thought that innocent dogs will be euthanized for being alone in this world? That’s why Community Alliance for Paws — Cabadbaran was calling for anyone willing to give the fur babies a second chance at life. “If you have time and resources, please claim at least one dog,” they wrote on Facebook.
If you’re burdened with the desire to save these dogs but you can’t adopt them, the organization instructed people to bring the dogs at their Shelter at Asis Street, Brgy. 1 (near Ariz Sizzling Sisig at Plaza). Before you do, make sure you contact the organization on Facebook for assistance. You should also bring proof that the dogs were claimed from the Cabadbaran City pound.
If you live in the Agusan del Norte area or you know someone who does, a furry friend needs your help to avoid a meaningless death. You don’t have to spend a single cent to adopt one of the impounded dogs. According to the organzation, a generous sponsor already paid for all the pound claiming requirements. All you have to do is show up and save a life. If you’re interested, send the Community Alliance for Paws — Cabadbaran’s Facebook page a message.
Animals don’t deserve to be put down just because they don’t have a family. Adopting dogs gives them a second chance at life to heal and thrive. You might not be getting a 100% healthy dog but you can nurse them back to health and establish a relationship with them. Stray dogs need love and care the most — two things they’ve been deprived of. Besides, adopting a dog saves a life (and it costs less too!).
