It isn’t too late to pack up the car, grab your best friends, and soak up the last bits of fun and sun. One of the wonderful things about living in the Metro is that the beach, or, well, a vacation in general, is never too far.
Here are a few places you can go, even for the day, to end the summer with a bang:
Activities: You can birdwatch, take a boat down the lakeside, camp out for a picnic, enjoy the day biking, or visit all of the art installations on the grounds. There’s also a nearby wake park if you’re on the sporty side.
Activities: From ukay to foodtrip, Tagaytay’s got a little bit of something for everyone. You can go for a hike in Taal, or visit Gina Gil Lacuna’s record-breaking puzzle collection at the Puzzle Mansion.
Activities: Food, food, and more food! If you want to work off all the wonderful sisig and silvanas that you’ve consumed, head over to Deca Wake Park and while away the afternoon wakeboarding before making the short trek back to the Metro.
Activities: Lounge by the beach, go for a hike, explore the coves, or catch a couple of waves. You can end the day with a bonfire by the shore.
Activities: Hang out in one of Nasugbu’s numerous coves, church-hop and take in some history or culture, or simply be a beach bum with your friends and family for the day!
Activities: Eco Park is probably one of the best places to take your family for a day of kicking back and relaxing. The kids can go for a swim, all of you can take a leisurely stroll through the gardens, or you can go boating and fishing. For adrenaline junkies, the park also has facilities for wall climbing, paintgunning, and ziplining!
Activities: For downhill longboard enthusiasts, Taktak is a must-bomb spot just a few minutes out of the city. You can also go spelunking at Mystical Cave, or opt for something a bit more laid back, like visiting Pinto Art Gallery, or simply sit al fresco and enjoy the view.
Activities: Most people don’t know how gorgeous the beaches in Morong, Bataan are. Take a side trip and visit the Pawikan Conservation Center, or check out Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.
