Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar

Location: 134 Fernando Poe Jr. Ave, San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City

In case you didn’t know, the stunning Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan has a smaller sibling in QC that you can easily tour in half a day or in a couple of hours. While this branch isn’t as big as provincial property, it still has the same charm that will instantly make you feel like you traveled back in time.

At Las Casas QC, you’ll find a perfectly preserved ancestral home turned into a museum and a restaurant, replicas of heritage houses, a bar and a cafe, a spacious courtyard, gardens, and a stunning chapel. All of these you can explore starting at PHP500.

Quezon Memorial Shrine

Location: Quezon Memorial Circle, Barangay Central, Quezon City

For many, the Quezon Memorial Circle is another landmark they pass by during their daily commute. But did you know that the 25-hectare circle park is home to museums, playgrounds, and more? This includes the Quezon Memorial Shrine, which is also the resting place of former Philippine President Manuel  L. Quezon and his partner, First Lady Aurora Aragon Quezon.

Bahay Modernismo

Location: Quezon Memorial Circle, Barangay Central, Quezon City

Did you know that the Quezon Memorial Circle is home to five museums? Its latest addition is the Bahay Modernismo, which is the reconstructed house of the historically significant Aquino home.

The uber stylish museum will let you travel back in time as it boasts a mid-century design, complete with items, gadgets, and appliances from the 50s. Many of these were originally owned by the Aquino family, too.

Every corner is picture-perfect, so make sure to take lots of photos when you visit! Entrance to the museum is FREE, and it is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Quezon City is home to a diverse gastronomic scene: from budget-friendly meals for students to upscale restaurants for yuppies and heritage establishments that families keep returning to. Here are some that we tried:

Provenciano

Location: 110 Maginhawa, Diliman, Quezon City

If you’re looking for a destination with great eats and hangout spots, QC’s iconic Maginhawa Street is one of the destinations you’ll be recommended with. Nestled in the heart of this neighborhood is Provenciano, a heritage restaurant that will make you feel like you’re coming home to your grandparent’s house in the province. It even has a classic kalesa in its façade.

Provenciano serves classic Pinoy dishes from all over the country – the head chef travels to different local destinations, which is truly an immersive way of familiarizing yourself with a province’s dishes. The heritage restaurant has an impressive menu of 82 dishes, so there’s plenty to try every time you visit.

Don’t forget to try their desserts as well, especially the bibingka made fresh just outside the restaurant.

Misto Restaurant

Located on the ground floor of Seda Vertis North, Misto is the hotel’s in-house restaurant that serves Filipino and international cuisine. They have an all-day meal service, so whether you’re starting your day with a hefty breakfast or want a romantic dinner for an anniversary, there are plenty of dishes to sample here.

Seda Vertis North Exclusive Lounge

Guests staying at Seda Vertis North have the option to add the Exclusive Lounge access, which you can visit on the hotel’s 23^rd floor. Don’t miss out on the Afternoon Tea experience – a relaxing activity of sampling savory and sweet treats paired with your tea of choice as you appreciate the panoramic view of the city.
