Munch Your Way Around the World with These Snack Subscription Boxes

Jul 29, 2020   •   Kyzia Maramara

The world may not see eye-to-eye on most things, but this much we can agree on: a life without snacks is boring. And we all know that part of learning about a country is by tasting their food and snacks definitely count. Just think of those delightful small treats you hoard for yourself when you go abroad or even local treats you munch on when you get hungry in between meals. While we can’t exactly fly out and experience these snacks while traveling right now, there are a number of subscription boxes that contain unique ones from all over the world that you can’t find even in the best grocery or supermarket aisles in our country. Here are a few ones worth subscribing to.

Bokksu

One of the best subscription boxes for Japanese snacks is Bokksu. First-time customers get a “Seasons of Japan” box which contains specially curated premium Japanese snacks from the country’s all four seasons. That means you get Mocchan Dango Mochi, White Strawberry, Handmade Yuzu Sake Candy, Funwari Meijin Mochi Puffs, and more. And if you don’t know what the heck those snacks were, all the more reason you should subscribe because you’re missing out on all the awesomeness!

Subscription options are available monthly,  for 3 months, and annually or as low as P1,820.48 per box. After the “Seasons of Japan” box, you will receive monthly themed snack boxes lovingly handpicked by the staff.

Tokyo Treat

Where Bokksu was more traditional, Tokyo Treat leans more on the sweet and modern side of Japan’s delicious snacks. Their boxes feature Japan favorites: Pocky, Lotte snacks, KitKat variants, even rare Starbucks treats, and other classic Japanese candies. Your box will be bursting with color once it arrives at your home.

Tokyo Treat’s Premium box has subscription options for monthly, 3, 6, and 12 month options with the lowest price of P1,720.79.

Korean Snack Box

Aside from cool monthly themed snacks, Korean Snack Box also delivers a special silk bag along with every box. The July 2020 box contained jellies, crackers, Fruit Juice Candy, Choco Pie, and more. You can also purchase specially curated boxes such as Candy Jelly Box for the most popular Korean Jelly candies, a Pepero Box, a Cherry Blossom Box, and a Chips Box.

Each Large Snack Box is at P1,472.51 while Medium Boxes are priced at P1,226.68.

SnackFever

The Daebak Company has subscription boxes for all things Korean from jewelry and skincare or snacks. Expect 8 to 11 of Korea’s trendiest and most popular snacks when you open a SnackFever box. Think jellies, chips, candies, coffee, drinks, and more! Sometimes they also include one ramen cup/package and one easy-prep meal such as Tteokbokki or Bibimbap.

SnackFever has available plans for 1, 3, 6, and 12 months with the lowest price of roughly P1,819.12 per box. SnackFever Original Box is priced at P1,578.73

Korea Box

Here’s another well-loved K-Snack box. Korea Box offers recurring subscriptions for boxes containing cosmetics, skincare, K-pop merch, and K-Snacks (fans of all things Korean, rejoice!). Munch on 12 to 15 unique Korean goodies that come with one surprise non-edible item.

MunchPak lets you choose from a box of 5 to 20 full-sized snacks to enjoy solo or with your family. You can even add a soda option to complete your snacking-across-countries experience. They don’t normally ship to the Philippines but you can contact their customer service for instructions on what to do to get yours delivered. It’s possible to get your hands on that box!

MunchPak is available for monthly, 3, 6, and 12-month plans for as low as P980.85 per box.

Curious as to what Mexicans enjoy for snacks? MexiCrate has got you covered. Each box is an assortment of 10 to 15 Mexican candy, sweets, and snacks that will introduce you to the country’s snacking culture. A Mexican Candy Liker Box (up to 450g of candy) will cost you roughly P310 per month. The Kings Mexican Candy Box which contains 14 to 20 large snacks is roughly P1,474.97. A pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Have you tried snack subscription boxes before?
