New on Netflix: Get Your Hearts Ready for the Spooky Season with These New Shows and Films

Oct 1, 2020   •   Ina Louise Manto

Could you believe that we’re already down to the last three months of 2020? The year’s passing by too fast and we can’t keep up — physically, we’re in October, but mentally, we’re still in the Dalgona coffee phase of the year. As we enter the spooky season, check out these shows and films (some spooky, some not) arriving on Netflix this October:

Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol

Starring Reply 1994’s Go-Ara and Memories of the Alhambra’s Lee Jae-Wook, Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol is a highly-anticipated K-drama dropping on Netflix this month. They might be your next OTP! Gu Ra-ra (Go A-ra) is a bubbly and successful pianist who finds herself in a piano academy in the countryside after losing everything. There she meets Sunwoo Jun (Lee Jae-Wook), a mysterious man who’s trying to run away from his past. Together, they help each other stand on their feet again and discover love along the way.

Available on October 7.

Employees look nothing but normal until you dig deeper into their private lives. Cha Joo-Eun (Girl’s Generation’s Seohyun) looks like an innocent woman but provides herself through swindling. Lee Jeong-Hwan (Reply 1998’s Go Kyung-Po) is an employee of a powerful corporation. Together, they team up with two other swindlers to expose the government’s biggest secret. How will they do it?

Available on October 7.

The Haunting of Bly Manor

Following The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor is the second installment in The Haunting anthology series. Set in the 1980s England, the horror drama follows the life of an American nanny given the task to care for two orphans who live with a chef, groundskeeper, and housekeeper at Bly Manor.

Available on October 9.

A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting

In order to free Jacob from a Boogeyman and other monsters, Kelly the babysitter teams up with others in the society and goes on an adventure on Halloween night.

Available on October 14.

Start-Up

Can’t get enough of The School Nurse Files’ Nam Joo-hyuk? The charming actor pairs up with the iconic Bae Suzy on Start-Up. Seo Dal-mi (Suzy) drops out of university to pursue her dreams in tech and Nam Do-San (Nam Joo-Huyk) is a former math whiz trying to keep his company afloat. They reconnect at a place called Sand Box, which resembles Silicon Valley and work towards their way to success.
