You Had ONE Job: Crazy Reactions from the Miss Universe Crowning Fiasco

By now you know what happened during the Miss Universe 2015 crowning that gave local bekis, parloristas and fans a heart attack. The good thing was they were resuscitated immediately after by the turn of events, like a phoenix being reborn from the ashes of disappointment.

Pageant host Steve Harvey crowned the wrong Miss Universe winner when he announced Miss Colombia, when it was actually Miss Philippines who won the title. Steve Harvey apologized, claiming full responsibility for the mistake, and Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez had to hand over the crown to Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach in a very awkward moment that will be preserved in the pageant’s history, as viewers the world over cringed, enduring second-hand embarrassment.

Fans were quick to jump with their own jokes and theories as why the pageant ended that way. Stuff like:

 

8. M Night Shyamalan was the show’s director

PLOT TWIST. It was the Philippines all along who won the title. M Night is the master at total WTF-didn’t-see-that-coming endings. Could it be that Pia Wurtzbach can also see dead people and that Steve Harvey wears foil hats so that aliens can’t read his mind? We’ll never know.

 

7. It is not Steve Harvey’s day


After misspelling Colombia and the Philippines in a tweet, fans quickly took notice and prepared a barrage of insults. He should also apologize to Miss Galatians, Miss Ephesians, Miss Colossians, and Miss Corinthians. But seriously, today is just not Steve’s day.

The prophecy has come true. Pia’s confidence and radiance helped her bag the crown, and fans showed her some love.

The ending to the pageant was so awkward and cringe-worthy. It was like staring at a gruesome train wreck and yet you just can’t look away.

Colombia is now the spirit animal for people who were lead on. Ang sakit, be.

 

1. It was an honest mistake


We can only imagine what Steve’s going through right now. It was an honest mistake and he owned up to it. However, people still expressed their disbelief:

We’re pretty sure he’ll be able to laugh this off soon and bounce right back. I mean, he can handle the insane answers as a host on Family Feud. He even personally apologized to Pia:

Just don’t go to Colombia, Steve.
