Catch the Thai Fever with These Series and Movies on Netflix

Jul 24, 2020   •   Bianca Katipunan

Thai series have been taking over Netflix! From love to horror stories they have it all. Why not mix and match the shows your binge-watching and try watching these different films and series. If you’re looking to get into the hype, here are different Thai shows and films you should watch:

Tootsies & The Fake

Tootsies and The Fake is the big-screen adaptation of the hit Thai series Diary of Tootsie.  The series follows the story of three gay men,  Gus (Petch Paopetch Charoensook), Golf (Pingpong Thongchai Thongkanthom), and Kim (Ratthanant Janyajirawong) and their lesbian friend Natty (Peak Pattarasaya Kreursuwansir). In Tootsies and the Fake, the Tootsie Gang try to make it big as TV sensations. However, when Cathy (Araya A. Hargate) — the star for a lucrative TV commercial — slips and falls unconscious, The Tootsie gang is forced to find someone that looks like her. Their prayers are heard when they meet Nam (Araya A. Hargate)  who looks exactly like Cathy but has a horrible attitude. How will the Tootsies manage to convince Nam to pose as Cathy for the commercial shoot?

The Stranded

After a tsunami strikes an island, dozens of students are left with fear and trauma. To make matters worse, they realize that no rescuers are coming and that they are left to fend for themselves. Will the students find a way to leave the island or will they be stuck there forever?

2gether

Good news: the famous BL series we all love is coming to Netflix! 2gether tells the story of Tine (Metawin Opas-iamkajorn) who convinces Sarawat (Vachirawit Chiva-aree) to be his fake boyfriend. At first, Sarawat dismisses Tine’s proposal but because of his eagerness, Sarawat agrees. As their “relationship” becomes deeper, the two start genuinely to fall for one another.

2gether can be streamed on  Netflix starting July 30.
