Halloween is basically the one time of the year when showing up as someone else is highly encouraged. But for The New Nocturnals, simply putting on a costume won’t cut it. The dress code was clear: bring the drama, the creativity, and, of course, the fashion.
The New Nocturnals celebrated all things cinema with the theme “Silver Screen: The Director’s Cut,” held at the Peninsula Manila. And if this year’s celebrity looks are anything to go by, the attendees definitely came ready for their close-ups. Here are eight looks that stole the scene:

Sometimes, the best Halloween costume ideas are better executed as a duo, just like Pinoy Big Brother Collab 2.0 alums Joaquin Arce and Lala Ford, who brought the world of Dune, taking on the roles of Paul Atreides and Chani.

Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara went retro-futuristic, dressing up as Robot Maria from Fritz Lang’s 1927 film Metropolis. And if you’re wondering why the character looks familiar, it’s because Robot Maria is one of cinema’s most recognizable depictions of artificial intelligence. Such a serve!

Who said Halloween needs to be all about dazzling costumes? Actress Lovi Poe leaned into the eerie side of cinema, channeling Pennywise—the terrifying clown from Stephen King’s iconic IT.

Drag Race Philippines alum Viñas DeLuxe brought pop culture into the event by paying homage to the one and only Mariah Carey. Because honestly, is it even a celebration of cinema and pop culture without a little Mimi?

Kapamilya actress Francine Diaz stepped onto the New Nocturnals, or rather, into Wonderland as the Mad Hatter. Mad Hatter is widely regarded as one of the most eccentric characters from Lewis Caroll’s beloved Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and its many screen adaptations.

For a Halloween event filled with references to some of cinema’s most iconic characters, The Voice Philippines Season 2 grand winner Jason Dy traded the familiar for the fantastical, drawing inspiration from Jake Sully in James Cameron’s Avatar films.

Miss Universe Philippines 2026 Bea Millan-Windorski is a celestial vision brought to life, with a sense of grandeur—a look that fits right into an evening where fashion and cinema take center stage.

Are we surprised? At this point, there’s no denying that serving a Halloween look is just in the DNA of actress Andre Brillantes. This year, she paid tribute to one of cinema’s most enduring icons: Charlie Chaplin. Andrea embodied Charlie, from his signature bowler hat and cane to his toothbrush mustache. After all, you can’t talk about cinema history without giving its pioneers their flowers.
