Another Cebuana beauty

This 5’5” beauty is Cebu City’s representative for Miss World Philippines 2021. And in less than a week, she is the second candidate hailing from Cebu City to be crowned as the Filipina representative in a major international pageant. The first is Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who was crowned just last Thursday, September 30.

Pageantry is in her blood

Her mother Chona Perez was also a beauty queen, who was a Binibining Cebu finalist and was once dubbed as one of Cebu’s Five Prettiest.

And she knows her way around the stage

Aside from inheriting her mom’s beauty and brains, Tracy has a lot of pageantry experience under her belt. She has been competing as far back as 2011 during her university days. She was the runner-up in Miss Cebu 2016. For the next two years, she competed in Binibining Cebu and finished sixth in 2017 and third in 2018. By 2019, Tracy was able to become the representative of Cebu City at Miss World Philippines 2019, and once again in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Tracy got her big break this year when she was crowned Miss World Philippines 2021.

In her first walk as Miss World Philippines 2021, Tracy unfortunately slipped, but she was able to gracefully regain her footing and composure with her experience and the help of her fellow queens. (Netizens attribute the stumble to the length of coronation night that could’ve tired out all candidates, which still excludes the time they spent on rehearsals.)

She’s a miracle baby

During the preliminary interviews in last year’s Miss Universe Philippines, Tracy shared that she is a miracle baby to her single mom. She was born at just six months old. Because of her experiences, Tracy considers her life an “absolute blessing,” which inspires her to “learn from every experience, both good and bad.”

She’s an engineer

She took up industrial engineering at the University of San Carlos, where she graduated in 2014. Tracy also previously worked as an associate software engineer in Accenture, while also doing modeling work on the side. Beauty and brains!

She’s an outdoorsy girl

Tracy’s hobbies include travel, outdoor activities, and sports like volleyball and badminton. She’s also a certified foodie — her very first Instagram post is a spread of food, and our mouth is watering!.

She’s a supporter of a lot of advocacies

As a queen, Tracy has a lot of advocacies. She joined a marathon for breast cancer awareness, and she used her online platforms to bring attention to donation drives in her hometown and outside. One near to her heart is providing equal access to quality education for everyone. She spent most of her childhood enjoying learning with access to educational establishments, but her academic career took a backseat when her mom passed away when she was 17. But after receiving help from her relatives, she was able to graduate, which led to her promise to help people like her to get access to quality education and realize their dreams.

She bagged a lot of awards

Aside from being crowned Miss World Philippines 2021, Tracy actually already received a lot of different awards, including Ms. Bench Body or Best in Swimsuit award, Miss Bluewater Day Spa, Miss Artopian International, Miss Bench, and Miss Derma Fix. Before the finals night, she was also part of the Top 10 candidates for the National Costume portion of the pageant, where she wore an ensemble called Vessel of Faith as a tribute to the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines.

Tracy Maureen Perez will be competing for the Miss World 2021 crown on December 16, 2021 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. If she wins, she will be the second Miss World from the Philippines after Megan Young was first crowned in 2013.
