Five years after it first opened its doors in the country, Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO is finally bringing the much anticipated UNIQLO Coffee to the Philippines. Here’s our first look at UNIQLO Coffee:

The cafe

Set to open on October 13, Friday, UNIQLO Coffee is the perfect spot to rest after a long day of shopping for your UNIQLO favorites. It’s located at the 2nd level of UNIQLO’s flagship branch at Glorietta.

Sticking to the Japanese minimalist culture, the cafe space features a clean, simple look using a combination of off-white walls and wooden chairs and tables.

The only pop of color you’ll find is the colorful mural called “Brewing the Future” created by artist Glendford Lumbao that perfectly captures the Uniqlo-loving Pinoy.

It’s also perfect for those who want to study or work, because there are sockets all around the cafe.

The menu

Just like its look, the UNIQLO Coffee menu consists of minimalist, fuss-free drinks and pastries that can cater to any palate.

Basic espresso-based drinks on the menu include Americano (PHP 140), Cafe Latte (PHP 160), and Spanish Latte (PHP 180), all of which are available hot or cold. Each cup is made with beans sourced directly from local partner farmers. For those who don’t like caffeine, they also offer Hot Chocolate (PHP 140).

If you want something a little filling, especially after shopping all day, you can choose from their pastry offerings.

There are staples like Cookies (chocolate chip or triple chocolate chip) (PHP 90) for those with a sweet tooth. And for those who want something savory, a Smoked Salmon Panini (PHP 230) is the way to go.

Of course, UNIQLO Coffee brings together Japanese and Filipino cuisines with their food offerings. You can choose between the An Pan (PHP 90) (or red bean bread) and the Pan de Sal (PHP 30).

UNIQLO Coffee opens to the public on Friday, October 13.
