Rami Malek was hailed Best Actor during the 91st Academy Awards for his phenomenal performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. What makes it crazier was the fact that it was his first nomination for an Oscar too! He has bagged almost all the Best Actor awards during award season including the Golden Globe Award, the BAFTA Award, AACTA International Award, and the Satellite Award.
And Rami’s luck continues with rumors of him being cast as the villain in the next James Bond movie. But before we obsess with his soon-to-be role, have you seen Rami in his other appearances?
If you’re still on that Rami Malek fever, we’ve listed movies and TV shows Rami Malek has appeared in. We’re looking forward to seeing more of this man!
Rami Malek as Benjamin
You can’t make us watch anything Twilight-related but when you say Rami is there, we’re watching for Rami. His short but sweet stint in Breaking Dawn as Benjamin, a member of the Egyptian coven (pretty convenient since Rami is actually Egyptian) showed us that vampires can be badass too. Red eyes suit him for sure!
Rami Malek as Finn
Rami plays Finn a member of protagonist Tobey Marshall’s crew. He is the group’s computer expert who monitors cameras to record races. His most notable scene in this film was when he stripped naked on the way out of his office. Piqued your interest? Watch the movie!
Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson
Rami’s big break came when he was cast as the lead role for crime/drama/thriller TV series Mr. Robot which first aired back in 2015. He portrayed Elliot, a brilliant hacker with a mission.
Rami Malek as Flip McVicker
Rami’s soothing voice gives life to the character of Flip McVicker, the arrogant director behind BoJack’s Philbert project.
BoJack Horseman is a Netflix Original animated series on the life of its titular character, BoJack, an anthropomorphic animal wading through the disappointments, pressures, and various vices of life.
Rami Malek as Louis Dega
Rami stars alongside Charlie Hunnam in this biographical film about Henri Charriere (Hunnam) who is wrongfully convicted of murder. In prison, he befriends convicted counterfeiter Louis Dega (Rami) and together they plan their escape from their prison so-called Devil Island.
After watching the movie, you might want to click on this Wired Autocomplete interview of Rami and Charlie. It’s endearingly awesome.
Rami Malek as Buster
It will take some time to understand this mystery film from everything that happened to the way it ended but Rami’s acting was, as always, on point. This movie is about a family-man (Rami) who encounters a conspiracy-obsessed drifter that has since changed his life.
Rami Malek as PFC Merriell ‘Snafu’ Shelton
Gun wielding, war-fighting, and calm-as-ever Rami Malek stars in The Pacific, a 10-episode miniseries on World War II as seen through the eyes and lives of several young marines. This series was produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.
Fun fact: Joseph Mazzello who plays John Deacon in Bohemian Rhapsody also stars in this series as Cpl Eugene “Sledgehammer” Sledge.
Rami Malek as Pharaoh Ahkmenrah
For most of us, we first saw Rami as the good-looking mummy of Pharaoh Ahkmenrah in Night at the Museum where his Golden Tablet, an Egyptian artifact, is responsible for bringing the exhibits to life at night. Egyptian Rami portraying an Egyptian role is such a treat. As Pharaoh Ahkmenrah, Rami is quirky, serious, loyal, and adventurous, and it’s great seeing him in that costume.
