Oh, May. No matter how you look at it, there’s absolutely nothing extraordinary about the month of May (apart from Labor Day and the much-awaited Elections, at least). Faced with full work weeks and uneventful weekends, spend your idle moments bingeing these new Netflix releases!
Tuca and Bertie
From the same people that brought to us Bojack Horseman, Tuca and Bertie is another irreverent cartoon about two 30-year-old anthropomorphic birds (voiced by Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong) and their daily struggles of life.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile
Practically the most awaited serial killer biopics, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile uncovers the life and crimes of notorious murderer Ted Bundy (Zac Efron) as told by his girlfriend Liz (Lily Collins). Also, Metallica’s James Hetfield is here on his first starring role.
Dead to Me
If you like dark comedies, Dead to Me is a must-see. It tells the story of an irate widow searching for the hit-and-run driver who killed her husband, who meets and befriends a strange and overly optimistic woman. This film is set to make you laugh at one moment, then tear your heart to pieces the next.

From the genius mind of Amy Poehler comes this American comedy film about a group of friends who travel all the way to Napa for a friend’s 50th birthday celebration. Wine Country features a star-studded cast, namely Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, Jason Schwartzman, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler herself.

While Netflix’s strength is its number of romcom originals, its thrillers are not to be ignored. This social thriller anthology drama starring Renée Zellweger follows the chain of events that happen after an idealistic scientist (Zellweger) and her husband strike up an outrageous deal with a mysterious investor out of desperation to fund her med tech startup.
