What can you binge-watch this June, you ask? Streaming giant Netflix has got a bunch of movies and series to throw your way. There’s the highly anticipated Money Heist: Korea series, a remake of La Casa De Papel. There’s also a new K-drama coming to Netflix starring Kim Bum and Rain. If you’re looking for a light comedy to watch with the family, check out Rowan Atkinson’s Man vs. Bee. Check out what’s new on Netflix this June.

Netflix is about to release the Korean adaptation of its hit Spanish series La Casa de Papel, Money Heist: Korea. Swap the Royal Mint of Spain with the Korean Peninsula and it’s basically the same familiar plot. A brilliant mastermind and his crew of thieves with cities for nicknames storm the Korean Peninsula, taking hostages along the way. The police will do anything to stop them and uncover the man who is responsible for it all. If you’ve been a fan of K-dramas and Korean movies, you should know by now that Koreans take everything seriously, even remakes, so expect something new.

Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller, Jurnee Smollett, Tess Haubrich, BeBe Bettencourt
Spiderhead is based on a New Yorker short story “Escape From Spiderhead” by George Saunders. The movie focuses on two inmates who volunteered for futuristic clinical trials in a state-of-the-art penitentiary. The tests, done by a brilliant visionary, involve drugs that alter emotions and feelings, forcing the inmates to confront their past. Frankly, seeing Hemsworth in a role as far removed from Thor as possible would be worth watching.

Cast: Sarah Catherine Hook, Imani Lewis
TBH, we’re pretty excited for this one. It’s about time we took a break from the zombie trope and focus on exploring worlds with vampires. First Kill is your modern sapphic version of Romeo and Juliet. One of the main character’s names is even Juliette. Teenage vamp Juliette focuses on new girl Calliope for her first kill. But unbeknownst to her, Calliope is a vampire hunter. In true teenage sappy fashion, both fall in love.

Cast: Rowan Atkinson, Jing Lusi
Anything with Rowan Atkinson as the main character is going to be a hit for sure and we won’t be surprised if Man vs. Bee flies (get it?). In this limited series, Atkinson is a homeless man who’s hired by a businesswoman to be her housekeeper. He enjoys her luxurious house but there’s just one problem — there’s a bee. The series follows Atkinson as he does everything humanly possible to kill the mischievous bee. Prepare for some Mr. Bean-esque gags!
Release date: June 8
Cast: Adam Sandler, Queen Latifah, Juancho Hernangómez
It looks like Adam Sandler has put the romcoms and comedies behind him. In Hustle, he’s a basketball scout that chances on a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past. The problem? He lives abroad and he’s a nobody. Sandler’s character hustles to bring him to the States, join his team, and train him to make it in the NBA. If you enjoyed watching Sandler in Uncut Gems, stressful as that movie was, you’ll love him here.
Release date: June 22
Cast: Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher
The Hargreeves sibling rivalry is at an all-time high as Umbrella Academy returns for its third season. They’re still out to save the world from Total Destruction but this time our orphan superheroes are up against their deadly counterpart, the Sparrow Academy.
Release date: June 23
Cast: Rain, Kim Bum
What would a new month be without a new K-drama to get addicted to? And this one is not just any drama, it’s one that stars Rain and Kim Bum — the ultimate combination for nostalgia. Ghost Doctor is another one of your body-swap series where a genius but arrogant surgeon possesses a first-year resident’s body. They’ve got opposite personalities and different medical abilities which prove to be convenient at times.
