8 Better Animal Charities to Help Out (Than 4th Impact’s GoFundMe)

In a move that could make Pongo and Perdita blush, embattled Pinoy girl group 4th Impact has somehow managed to be the not-so-proud owners of over 200(!) dogs. They’re now doing a GoFundMe for them so they can relocate them to a bigger plot of land. They’re also trying to sell or give away some of the other dogs despite not being licensed breeders in any shape or form.
Sure, we’d all love to do something nice for furbabies – why wouldn’t we? But let’s not forget – these 200 dogs are already someone’s responsibility, and if 4th Impact can afford to watch Taylor Swift in Singapore, they can totally afford to care for their own dogs without having to beg money from other people.
With that in mind, if you have a soft spot for our furry friends, maybe you’re better served by checking out these 8 pet-related causes instead. And no, it’s not a contest: You’re also free to do other humanitarian causes as well. It’s just a good idea to bring these ones to the forefront given the current zeitgeist, is all.
Probably the most popular one on this list, PAWS is an organization focused on ending animal homelessness by attacking the root: not neutering or spaying your pets when you aren’t actually ready to take care of their offspring when they inevitably do what they always do. Visit PAWS.
Maybe 4th Impact should have taken a cue from PAWS well before their 99 problems became 200++.
Don’t wait for the next viral video phenomenon to happen before you pay attention to animal cruelty again. Simply put, if you want the internet to come together in agreement over something, it’s the fact that animal cruelty is bad, and we don’t want to let that happen. Well, this is the perfect charity to support if you want legislative aid to ensure our furry friends are treated more humanely.

Where PSPCA is all about legislation, AKF is about law enforcement. Partnering with the PNP, the Animal Kingdom Foundation does what it can to bring people who are cruel to animals to justice. We have some people in mind that the AKF should go after, so supporting this charity sounds like a great idea!

As the country’s first no-kill shelter (yes, it’s a harsh reality of many shelters with limited space), PART manages to let its rescue animals roam free through its four-hectare farm. You can drop by and adopt cats, dogs, turtles, goats, chickens, and turkeys!

If you haven’t noticed, Boracay is rife with stray dogs across its beaches, and that becomes a growing problem as time goes by. Living by the credo of “animal welfare equals human welfare), this is one group that you can’t help but root for. If you’re in their vicinity, consider rescuing one of their partially trained doggos today! No, they won’t do tricks, but they’ve been socialized a lot better than you would generally expect from the average rescue dog.

With a surprisingly larger population of cats helped than dogs, CARA Welfare reminds us that it’s not just all about man’s best friend – rescue cats need some love, too! See their website.
“Our mission is to rescue. Our dream is one day, we won’t have to.” With a battle cry as plain as day, how could you not love these guys? To know more, click here.
We saved this one for last because when it comes to unwanted animals, older pets really tend to be at the top of that unfortunate list. BFFS takes care of the older and infirm pets in their twilight years, and if 4th Impact’s career were a pet, it’d fit right here, too! BFFS is currently taking a break due to a number of reasons but you can check out their website and follow them on Facebook for updates.
