Northern Playcon

The Northern Playcon is SM North EDSA’s first-ever gaming and tech experience happening only from August 1 to 17 at The Block Atrium.

It is just one of the many exciting activities for the SM Tech Fair 2025 in which SM transforms its spaces into tech wonderlands for the whole month of August. It is also a flagship event under the SM Fandom Series, serving as the ultimate celebration of all things tech, gaming, and fandom communities.

What to expect at the Northern Playcon

In collaboration with SM Cyberzone, gamers, tech fans, and anyone can visit for a tech and gadget haul with participating brands like PC Express, PLDT, Nintendo, Honor of Kings, PUBG, Tecno, Republic of Gamers, DataBlitz, SteelSeries, EVNIA, AGON, Smart, and Pilipinas Live. Additionally, Bandai Gashapon jumps in as Northern Playcon’s official event sponsor.

Gamer enthusiasts can try various setups from gaming desktop computers to the Nintendo Switch.

Northern Playcon also houses a so-called Gamers’ Round Table right in the middle of the arena, serving as a safe space for players, creators, and insiders to connect and discuss all things gaming culture, as well as it being a free-play area for friendly bouts or just solo gaming.

Meanwhile, those who want to unleash their competitive spirit can join the so-called Northern Playoffs, which are mini tournaments across different titles. In fact, fans can watch P-Pop groups battle one another to be crowned the Best Valorant Team during the Valorant P-Pop Showmatch on August 10, Sunday, 11 am.

Daily live watch parties will also keep the action alive on and off the floor thanks to two state-of-the-art overhead LED displays, so fans and shoppers will not miss the action.
