Taft is a cornucopia of affordable restaurants perfect for the average budget-constrained student (See: 8 Student Budget Friendly Places to Eat at Taft Avenue). Almost everything is there: a range of coffee shops, the best fast food chains, convenience stores, and even an Angel’s Burger branch! But if you’re a Taft veteran you must be looking for something new to spend your time with. Here are 8 new places where you can eat and hangout with your friends (even if you’re just dropping by).

What started out as a small stall in Sta. Ana that catered to the residents nearby eventually became a well-loved restaurant. Everything But Cheese has found its way in Taft and is settling here for the long run. Students are more than welcome to get acquainted (and eventually addicted) to the daringly cheesy menu. You can find affordable cheeseburgers, craft sandwiches, pasta, nachos, and cheese fondue and dips, a hearty menu that can tide you over until your next class.

Taft has a new food park to boast – Arrow Food Park. Located just behind St. Scholastica, the restaurants are dedicated to serving students from the university zone in Taft. Designed like container vans on top of one another, Arrow Food Park already has a number of delicious restaurants open and there are more to be added soon. The restaurants include Beast Mode Fries and Sausages, Poison Cravings, Bubble Wraps, Qrazy Quesadilla, Boodle Gang, and Above Sea Level among others.

At Diligence Café, you sure can get your work on; it’s spacious, there’s fiber WiFi, unli juice and drinks, showers, and you can take naps which of course isn’t the reason you’re there!
