“Happy to personally deliver [Chi Loyzaga-Gibbs’] gift of her Air Jordans to Mam [Leni Robredo]. We specially had a pair for her since the shoe came out but Mam was in the U.S. Chi would have loved to hand it herself but she’s in SG,” captioned Gibbs.

“From a woman who inspired a global brand to a woman who inspired a nation. Thrilled to see you again [Atty. Leni Robredo],” he added.

The post on Instagram has since garnered more than 13k likes. Loyzaga-Gibbs also commented, thanking her father for making sure Robredo received it: “Omg I’m sooooo kilig!!! Thanks pop.”

A closer look at the Air Jordan 2 Retro Low Titan

The Air Jordan 2 Retro Low Titan is undoubtedly a head-turner. In the video, you could see Gibbs wearing the sneakers himself. It boasts a retro color palette that brings memories back to “hook shots, tall socks, and short shorts.” It’s a combination of premium suede, richly textured corduroy, and crisp leather with a speckled midsole. To bring this beautiful sneaker to life, Nike paired with Filipino basketball collective Titan and Pinay designer Loyzaga-Gibbs. She is the “first Asian/female outside the U.S. to design a Jordan,” says her father. The colorful pair is inspired by the beloved 1954 Filipino national team and pays homage to Loyzaga-Gibbs’ grandfather, Filipino basketball hero Caloy Loyzaga.
