The latest (loose) adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women is set in modern South Korea, where three sisters struggle to live with their meager earnings and find themselves in the middle of a conspiracy involving the elite of the elites of society. With slush funds, murders, and underhanded plots, it’s got a lot of intrigue and mystery from the get-go. But one thing that caught our eye is the pair of high heels that one of the sisters uses throughout the first two episodes.

In the show, shoes — or more particularly high heels — play an important role in the unfolding mystery. One of the three sisters, Oh In-joo (played by Kim Go-eun of Goblin fame), usually only wears cheap heels to work. But as she becomes more involved in a sinister conspiracy, she receives an expensive pair of high heels as a gift from her close friend (sentimental) and another from her boss (creepy). We even get a lot of close-up shots focusing solely on the shoes, so we’re pretty sure we’ll see this motif consistently throughout the show.

There is also at least another character with whom the heels have a significant connection, but we won’t expound here to avoid spoilers. But these high heels definitely caught our attention, so we’ve gone on a hunt to look for the exact pair.

The fictional brand

The pair we’re looking at is the fateful gift from In-joo’s friend: black pointed-toe pumps in nappa leather with a crystal-studded bracelet wrapping across the foot’s arch.

According to the show, the pair of high heels is from a brand called Bruno Zumino, where Song Joong-ki works as a shop clerk!

While there is no such shoe brand in real life, there is a real person named Bruno Zumino. He was an Italian theoretical physicist best known for the development of the supersymmetry theory. It’s unclear yet if the name has a significance in the drama’s plot or if it was simply lifted randomly. So now, the question is: what is the shoes’ brand in real life?

The real brand

The gorgeous pair of heels is actually from Jimmy Choo! To be exact, it’s the Jimmy Choo Bee 100 Embellished Leather Pumps in black. The heels are also available in white, but most sizes are currently out of stock.

The pair of heels retails at €850 on the Jimmy Choo website and up to $900 on third-party sellers. That’s about PHP 48,000 to 52,000 (or about one iPhone), wow.
