According to reports, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago was rushed to Makati Medical Center two days ago (Monday, May 30). By the evening of the next day, she was transferred from her private room in the hospital to the Intensive Care Unit.

Her husband, Jun Santiago, reports that his wife is doing well with her “trademark sense of humor” and sends her thanks and appreciation to friends, family, fans and others for their support. The family is not, however, accepting visitors or gifts and flowers. Some supporters have reportedly gone to MMC to leave notes and tokens, which have been refused, so they have taken to social media with the hashtag #LabanMiriam to send her prayers and other well-wishes.
