This two-part sci-fi film of Parasyte the Maxim plays even further with the concept of extraterrestrial body infection and elevates the original to something that is even more horrific, action-packed, and darkly comical. It admittedly had a slow build-up, but it’s still a movie worth watching for fans of the grotesque.
Himura Kenshin has become a household name to those who grew up watching the anime, Samurai X. It’s no wonder Keishi Ohtomo’s live action adaptation was so widely received by fans as well as the general audience. He stayed faithful to the original with his trilogy, depicting each character, relationships and the epic battles in a way that would bring tears to the eyes of those who knew the story from beginning to end.
Although no anime was made for the Crows Zero manga, the live action version directed by Takashi Miike did a great job visualizing the epic brawls and gang fights between high school delinquents. Three films were released, with only the first two earning positive reviews.
Attack on Titan quickly earned a cult following as fans went crazy with the uniqueness of its story involving giant cannibalistic humanoids. Following the popularity of the critically acclaimed anime, the live action film by Shinji Higuchi gained enough traction to be screened in cinemas worldwide and became a blockbuster hit in Japan.
