Weekends won’t be the same after Nevertheless’s final episode. Why is it only ten episodes?! (But those were also some very frustrating ten episodes.) We’re already missing the gang, and if you’re just like us, you might want to check out these other Korean dramas that starred our favorite Nevertheless stars.
Role in Nevertheless: Park Jae-eon
We’re pretty sure you know who he is. Maybe you’ve seen him first when you watched the Netflix hit series Love Alarm, where he played handsome, rich, and somewhat tsundere Hwang Sun-oh. His love story there is just as frustrating as it is in Nevertheless; (we can’t decide which is more heartache-inducing TBH). He also starred in the apocalyptic horror webtoon adaptation Sweet Home (which will be releasing a second season!) and slice-of-life Navillera. Before he shot to stardom, Song Kang also appeared in dramas like Touch Your Heart and The Liar and His Lover, which was his acting debut.
Song Kang’s next project is Office Romance Cruelty opposite Park Min-young. The drama will tell the story of the employees at the Korea Meteorological Administration.
Role in Nevertheless: Yoo Na-bi
Han So-hee found herself in the spotlight (and not always in a good way) with her amazing performance in the popular melodrama The World of the Married. She starred as the young adulteress Yeo Da-kyung, which led to many viewers flooding her Instagram posts with hate comments during the show’s run. Good thing public opinion has improved since then. Before TWOTM, she also starred in several dramas like 100 Days My Prince and Abyss.
Her next project is a drama with the working title Undercover, where her role is a bit different from her more famous works. She will play Yoon Ji-woo, a drug crime group’s mole within the police who wants to take revenge for her father’s death.
Role in Nevertheless: Yang Do-hyeok, Yoo Na-bi’s childhood friend
You’d probably remember Chae Jong-hyeop from his role as the trusty, lovesick sidekick Choi Jae-sun in Sisyphus: The Myth. He followed Park Shin-hye’s character all around, and we loved seeing him get his own heroic moments. He also had supporting roles in The Witch’s Diner and Hot Stove League, but we’re still eagerly waiting for him to actually become the main lead!
You might see him next on sports romance drama The Speed Going to You 493 km, which he is reportedly considering positively (though there’s no official confirmation yet!).
Role in Nevertheless: Yoon Seol-ah, Park Jae-eon’s ex-girlfriend
Lee Yul-eum has actually has starred in more dramas than her co-stars. She debuted in 2013 and has since played supporting roles in several dramas, including High School King of Savvy, The Village: Achiara’s Secret, and Dae Jang Geum Is Watching. You might recognize her in the more recent Queen: Love and War as Jo Young-ji, a pure young girl who was aiming to become the king’s woman.
Role in Nevertheless: Oh Bit-na, Yoo Na-bi’s best friend
Yang Hye-ji may be new to the acting scene, but she’s got some interesting credits under her belt. She recently starred in the coming-of-age high school drama Live On as Ji So-hyun, one of six main characters. The actress was also in When the Weather Is Fine starring Seo Kang-joon and Park Min-young.
Role in Nevertheless: Yoon Sol, Yoo Na-bi’s classmate and Seo Ji-wan’s best friend
Model-turned-actress Lee Ho-jung might be familiar as IU’s modern-day BFF in Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, who turned out to be cheating with IU’s boyfriend. It’s a short appearance, but it was quite memorable. Her other dramas include White Nights, Let Me Introduce Her, and Park Seo-joon-led film Midnight Runners. Aside from dramas, Lee Ho-jung also appeared in several music videos, including BIGBANG’s “Let’s Not Fall In Love” and Zico’s “I Am You, You Are Me.”
Role in Nevertheless: Seo Ji-wan, Yoo Na-bi’s classmate and Yoon Sol’s best friend
Yoon Seo-a may be young (she’s only 20!), but we know she’s a great actress with her performance in Nevertheless. She debuted in the 2018 drama Bad Papa as a supporting character but took a break until 2020. She made her comeback as the younger version of Im Hee-kyung in True Beauty.
Role in Nevertheless: Ahn Kyung-joon, Yoo Na-bi’s senior and a teaching assistant
Jeong Jae-kwang looks a lot different as the timid and shy teaching assistant in Nevertheless, but you might remember him as one of the psychiatric hospital patients in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Still not ringing a bell? He was Joo Jeong-tae, who was admitted for his alcoholism and got together with one of the other patients. He was also cast with supporting roles in Save Me, Witch at Court, and The Fiery Priest.
