Simon, played by Paulo Avelino, is one of the least-liked characters in On The Wings of Love. Despite being sensitive, smart, successful, well-dressed and handsome, he’s been shunned by Otwolistas as an abanger–meddling in the affairs of our precious Clark and Leah. When you set aside your CLeah fandom, however, Simon is still Simon and he’s a pretty great guy–the kind of guy you pine after in real life and would date in a millisecond. Maybe, just maaaaybe, Simon might be the right guy for Leah?
Let’s look at 8 reasons why.
8. He has a past, and it’s made him stronger
Whether Leah accepts him or not, we can already tell that he’ll pull through. We’ve all seen how Simon survived the heartbreak of losing his first love, Juliet, so waiting for Leah is just par for the course to him. Remember that moment when he was packing for the Dubai promotion and he looked at Juliet’s picture before choosing to leave it inside his drawer rather than bring it with him? Who doesn’t like someone who’s resilient, resourceful and strong?
7. He’s the perfect mentor

Simon has been a great mentor to Leah–he can and has definitely supported her dreams, big or small. Her success isn’t a source of insecurity for him because he knows who he is and what he’s capable of. His way of staying firm while still being supportive is the kind of handling Leah needs, because this helps her realize that she needs to devote more to her career.
6. He’s always there for her
One of the most important things in a relationship is consistency, and Simon has that in buckets. He’s been a friend to Leah in her lowest moments, helping her become stronger not just as colleague but also as an individual. It’s not his fault he became her boss, but that doesn’t stop him from supporting her in every way he can.
5. He’s a lot like Clark
If you look at it objectively, Simon and Clark actually have quite a bit in common (apart from both being yummy and in love with Leah). The biggest difference between them is that Simon doesn’t let his feelings get the best of him.
