Heneral Luna, Kita Kita, BuyBust, and More Are Coming to Netflix Starting November

After Netflix welcomed a couple of Filipino titles to its library, Pinoys everywhere (us included) have been making wishlists of movies we’d hope to be made available next.
Well, it’s safe to say that Netflix has finally heard our call after they’ve announced more than ten local films arriving in the streaming platform starting this November! Here are 8 of those films you should be most excited about:
Heneral Luna depicts the rise and fall of General Antonio Luna (John Arcilla) during the Philippine-American War when he served as the Supreme Chief of the Army under the First Philippine Republic. This film broke records as the highest grossing historical film of all time.

Directed by award-winning local film director Erik Matti, BuyBust follows anti-narcotics special operative Nina Manigan (Anne Curtis) who must battle her way out of the slums controlled by a violent and bloodthirsty gang after her entire squad is slaughtered in a drug raid that had been compromised.

This romcom starring Empoy Marquez and Alessandra de Rossi is funny, heartwarming, and a painful punch to the gut as we follow the story of two overseas Filipino workers residing in Sapporo, Japan who slowly find happiness in each other amidst their misery.

Starring one of the country’s favorite young love teams LizQuen, My Ex and Whys tells the story of Cali (Liza Soberano) whose blog “The Bakit List” goes viral after she posts about her ex-boyfriend Gio (Enrique Gil). But this take a turn for the worst as they both get invited to their friend’s wedding, forcing them to face each other.

Starting Over Again brings together Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual in a romantic comedy that will surely leave you in tears. Years after Ginny (Gonzaga) rejects Marco’s (Pascual) wedding proposal and leaves the country for her postgraduate degree, they meet again and get a second chance at love. But they will soon question whether they will get the happy ending they’ve always wanted or realize that they’re four years too late to start over again.

The film that brought dozens of heartbroken Filipinos to Sagada, That Thing Called Tadhana is finally going to be made available for everyone to watch over and over again! It follows Mace (Angelica Panganiban) who, after a horrible breakup, decides to go on a spontaneous road trip to Baguio with Anthony (JM de Guzman), a man she just met at the airport.

A Pinoy classic, this film stars well-loved local love team in the past. It Takes a Man and a Woman revolves around two exes, Miggy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Laida (Sarah Geronimo), who are forced to co-exist in the same company as coworkers.

This recent film puts a spotlight on the importance of family as the Bonifacio siblings (comprised of a star-studded cast, namely Aga Muhlach, Dingdong Dantes, Cristine Reyes, and Enrique Gil) reunite after finding out their father (Ronaldo Valdez) is diagnosed with cancer. In the process, they have to deal with unresolved issues among themselves within the seven weeks their father has left to live before it’s too late.
