Are you itching to enter the dark and cool movie theaters again but still worried about the extra exposure to unknown elements? These malls are offering ~exclusive~ screenings of movies for you and your loved ones at an affordable price! Here’s where and how you can book a private cinema in Manila.
ICYMI, after nearly two years since indoor cinemas last had their screening, they are once again opening their doors to accept moviegoers! Under Alert Level 3, cinemas have been allowed to reopen for fully vaccinated individuals. Since late November 2021, some Filipinos have gone to the theaters to enjoy quality movie time in front of the big screen.
However, despite this new regulation, some people are of course still worried about health concerns, especially when you’ll be spending at least two hours in a closed room full of strangers when we’re still in the middle of a pandemic.
This is why various moviehouses are offering private block screenings for customers who want privacy and security.
SM Cinema is opening their Director’s Club theaters (smaller yet more spacious theaters compared to their regular cinemas) for any moviegoer who wants to watch films with a private group. You can avail this offer at these SM Supermalls across the metro:
Prices start at PHP 12,600 for 28-pax theaters.
You need to book at least 5 days before your preferred block screening date. Submit your information through this form. You need to provide your email address, name, mobile number, preferred SM branch, preferred block screening date, preferred screening time, and number of moviegoers.
Ayala Malls are also offering private screenings for big groups who want to watch a movie together. They accept a maximum of 25 pax depending on the mall. These Ayala Malls accept bookings for private screenings:
You can find more information on their website and Facebook.
Private screenings are also available at Robinsons Malls, but their rates are computed according to the theater’s seat capacity and the mall’s ticket admission price. They accept bookings in these malls:
You can contact them through Facebook or send an email to movieworld@robinsonsland.com. Find more information on their website.
Both Rockwell Malls are open for block screenings for a safer and more intimate viewing with family and friends. You can easily avail of this service at Power Plant Mall and Santolan Town Plaza.
Independent moviehouse Cinema ‘76 also accepts rentals for block screenings and even other events like seminars and workshops. Their rates start at PHP 13,400 with a maximum capacity of 48 people per screening.
Films available at the theater are subject to availability, so make sure to call as soon as possible. You can contact them through cinema76filmsociety@gmail.com and 0977-705-4276.
Yes, they still apply. The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) regulations on the maximum amount of people allowed to gather must be followed, which is 30 – 50% of an establishment’s indoor capacities, depending on the Alert Level.
You will need to purchase tickets through contactless means. Seating must also be socially distanced. No food and drinks are allowed inside to highly encourage moviegoers to properly wear their face masks at all times even inside the theater.
All moviegoers must also be fully vaccinated and must present their fully accomplished vaccination card before being granted entry.
