‘Stranger Things 4’ Teaser Dropped and Here Are All the Fan Theories

If you’re a Stranger Things fan, you might have had mixed feelings for the last episode of Season 3. Sure, our favorite band of Hawkins kids and teenagers defeated the king of all Demogorgons and they are now free to live their lives, but not without a hefty price (SPOILER ALERT!)—the lives of Billy and Hopper. Raise your hand if you ugly cried like I did.

But the story continues! Netflix dropped a surprise sneak peek for Stranger Things Season 4 and internet sleuths were all over it the first few seconds. Screenshots, trailer stills, fan theories, and memes were all over our timelines, everyone is excited as heck!

But there are questions to be answered such as: is Hopper really dead?

We are not in Hawkins anymore!

We’re still traumatized by the fact that Hopper sacrificed himself to save Joyce, Eleven, the kids, and the world. He never even got to go out with Joyce on a proper date! But the post credits scene of Season 3’s last episode showed a Russian base with a couple of Russian soldiers talking about an “American.” Could that ‘American’ be Hopper? Well it better be!

 

David Harbour’s Instagram

Mid-July after the premier of Stranger Things 3, those who were closely monitoring David Harbour’s (Jim Hopper) Instagram were treated to a clue. He changed his Instagram profile a couple of times to a series of numbers which a fan decoded to be a phone number. The people that decided to call the number got a message from Marry Bauman (Brett Gelman).

Bauman was recorded saying “If this is Joyce, Joyce, thank you for calling, I have been trying to reach ya. I have an update. It’s about, well, it’s probably best if we speak in person. It’s not good or bad, but it’s something…”

Scientist genius that he is, maybe he figured out Hopper ~might~ have survived that blast!

 

There seems to be a light in this house


Nothing can stop internet sleuths, not even 144p resolution! Since Season 3 didn’t linger for long in the Upside Down, maybe Season 4 focuses on rescuing Hopper from the Upside Down?

 

The clock in the tree


The teaser had a mysterious clock pinned to a tree. What could this mean? Guess we’ll have to wait next year to find out!

 

Rest in power to the fallen ones


Throughout the course of 3 seasons, we’ve seen many beloved characters reach their demise. But there’s one person we know for sure we haven’t seen the end of, AND THAT IS JIM HOPPER BET YOUR LIFE ON IT.

 

Because we know it’s going to happen


Imagine Eleven and Hoppers father/daughter reunion at the end of Season 4! We’re calling it!

IN CONCLUSION: We think that Hopper is alive

We’re not even mad that the Stranger Writers put us on a roller coaster of emotions with his “death”, we’re just happy that we know he will come back (to possibly go on that date with Joyce).

There is no word yet on when Stranger Things 4 will be premiered or if production is ongoing or finished. All we know is, the whole world is waiting and we hope it will feature Suzie-Poo and Dusty-Bun singing a duet again. Never ending stoooory!
