Chinggay Labrador is the OG Filipino tarot creator of our generation, and the Practical Magic Starter Deck is the OG Filipino tarot deck that made us wonder, what is tarot, and how can I get in on that good juju?

The PM Starter Deck uses collage elements from the now-defunct Rookie Mag as well as catchy keywords to help you memorize the card meanings as you read. Great as a second deck after you’ve familiarized yourself with the original Rider-Waite-Smith images!

Midnight Madness Tarot

Hot off the press last March, the Midnight Madness Tarot was created by Eisel Winters, cartomancer, astrologer, and Reiki master and teacher.

This deck has strong Disney and anime inspirations, featuring a cool winter color palette, long-haired ladies, and graceful men (please note: most characters are nude!) The deck’s high-contrast palette is intended to encourage you to explore your lights and shadows.

A quirky creative himself, Kevin Dones is a Filipino tarot reader and artist based in Australia.

The Quirky Creatives Tarot is a diverse and inclusive deck with Humans of New York vibes, where each character feels like a real person with a real story. In keeping with the creatives theme, the four suits are reinterpreted as Brushes (Wands), Pens (Swords), Mugs (Cups), and Records (Pentacles). The deck also comes in a quaint but sturdy tin box.

Future Ancestors Tarot

The Future Ancestors tarot was created by Alexa Villanueva, a ceramic artist and tarot reader based in Seattle, Washington.

This deck hopes to honor and thank the land we live on and the long road our ancestors walked to create the world we live in today. It aims to awaken us to the impact we will have someday as ancestors to the future generation.

Featuring soft faces and shades of gray, this deck was created using sumi ink, watercolor paper, and leaves and flowers.

JL Umipig is an Ilocano creator born in Hawaii and currently residing in New York.

The Kapwa Tarot is a black and white deck featuring bold lines and boxy artwork. It was born out of her work on decolonization, honoring our ancestors, and rejecting capitalism.

The PM Pinoy deck features Practical Magic’s signature collage art style but with a vintage Filipino twist. The deck uses cutouts of iconic actors from 70’s magazines, and features Filipino keywords for each tarot card that really bring the deck home.
