LIST: Donation Drives to Help Those Hardest Hit by Typhoon Ulysses

Nov 13, 2020   •   Kyzia Maramara

While the country was slowly recovering from the destruction brought by the previous typhoons Rolly and Siony, Ulysses brought it to its knees again. The typhoon destroyed homes and displaced families and individuals in Catanduanes, Albay, Marikina, Rizal, and more. These hardest-hit areas need all the help they can get. Those of us who’ve got cash or food and shelter to share can send help through the following donation drives:

World Vision Philippines

Aside from sending your monetary assistance through the bank accounts above, you can also visit World Vision Philippines’ website for other deposit options. From the help you send, families will receive hygiene kits and non-food items such as blankets, tarpaulin, and mosquito nets. World Vision is targeting to help 10,000 to 50,000 families and individuals affected by the typhoon.

Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is accepting donations both in cash or in-kind. You can send them monetary assistance through bank deposits in BDO, Metrobank, BPI, or Security Bank. For online donations, they have GCash, PayMaya, PayPal, and PayMongo accounts. Every P500 donated can help provide a hygiene kit for a family, P5000 immediate cash for buying basic urgent needs like medicine and food, P15,000 can help a family restore their livelihood, and P50,000 can rebuild a family home. Find more details here.

PRC accepts in-kind donations of goods but they discourage sending old clothes. You can send your donations to the Philippine Red Cross Tower, 37 EDSA corner Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong City.
