Another week, another hump day! At least tomorrow is the last official workday of the week. Hooray for back-to-back long weekends! But as we scramble to finish our work, here are some feel-good news to make you smile and get through you the rest of the week!
Lucky Manzano and Jessy Mendiola recently announced that they got married at an intimate wedding last February. Following the announcement, the couple shared several photos of the happy day, including one of Lucky getting absolutely emotional watching Jessy walk down the aisle. Funnily enough, he captioned the photo, “Gawan niyo ng ng meme! Bilis! [laughing emojis]” And the internet answered the call.
Enchanted was confirmed for a sequel last December 2020, but at the time, it was only lead actress Amy Adams who was officially on board. But just recently, film composer Alan Menken shared in a livestream that other main cast members Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden are confirmed to return to their roles.
The sequel titled Disenchanted will tell the story “ten years after her happily ever after.” “Giselle questions her happiness, inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process,” the synopsis says. It’s set to launch on Disney+, but no dates have been confirmed yet.
Actor Enchong Dee just announced that he’s opening a music school in the Philippines this April. It’s going to be called Academy of Rock and would be the Philippine counterpart to the Singapore music school.
“It’s been a dream to open up my own school, and so I’m proud to announce that my partners and I are opening Academy of Rock Philippines, a totally different team from the former. This is one of the few businesses that I will personally supervise to make sure that the quality of music education will be at par with our Singaporean counterpart,” he captioned his Instagram post.
Classic Filipino peanut butter brand Lily’s just launched their very own ice cream. They partnered with dessert shop The Lost Bread to give PB lovers this Peanut Butter Brownie Fudge full of creamy goodness, dice roasted peanuts, and fudge brownie chunks. Every now and then, McDonald’s releases Korean-inspired food to their menu. And their 2021 menu items are these newest K-Beef and K-Chicken burgers composed of a patty, onion, lettuce, and kimchi dressing sandwiched between two black sesame seed buns. They also added honey butter as a new flavor for their Shake-Shake fries and a strawberry banana flavor for their classic sundae.

Rihanna showed her support for the Asian American community last weekend, taking part in a Stop Asian Hate protest with her assistant Trina Truong in New York City. She was so incognito that when she gave her Instagram handle to the people who approached her, they thought she was trolling. Cute. But also #StopAsianHate.
Ateneo de Manila University’s psychological clinic Bulatao Center announced that they are now offering free counseling services, which is open to all Filipino adults aged 18 and above. In each session, you’re encouraged to share your thoughts, worries, and distress with responders who will listen and provide a safe space. You can sign up here.
Agricultural company iFarms created the Umá app to help Filipino farmers secure buyers even before they harvest crops. It’s a B2B farm direct marketplace where you can get in touch with farmers themselves to purchase fresh supply directly. It’s straight from the farm to your doorstep!
