8 New Korean Dramas You Shouldn’t Miss This November

Nov 10, 2022   •   Meryl Medel

As we near the end of the year, everyone’s getting much busier with the holiday season. But that doesn’t mean you can’t kick back and relax to enjoy a good Korean drama, especially since there’s a lot premiering this month! We’ve got a lot of shorter series for this cycle, with more on the 8- to 12-episode length instead of the more usual 16 episodes. Still, that doesn’t mean they aren’t just as — or maybe even more — interesting. Check out these new Korean dramas you shouldn’t miss this November 2022:

Revenge of Others

After the untimely and mysterious death of her twin brother, shooting athlete Ok Chan-mi sets out to find the truth and take revenge against the people who killed her brother. She receives help from fellow student Ji Soo-heon, who starts to seek revenge against those who torment other people.

Cast: Shin Ye-eun (He Is Psychometric, A-Teen), Lomon(All of Us Are Dead), Seo Ji-hoon (My First Love, Solomon’s Perjury), Lee Soo-min (The King’s Affection), Jung Soo-bin (Juvenile Justice, Rookie Cops)
Episode count: 12
Release date: November 9; new episodes every Wednesday
Platform: Disney+

Behind Every Star

Based on the French comedy drama Call My Agent!, the show depicts the daily, if chaotic, lives of the employees of showbiz management company Method Entertainment. Because ~Behind Every Star~ is a team of people trying to manage their personal and professional lives to see the star become a star, while also attempting to live their own personal and professional lives.

Cast: Lee Seo-jin (Marriage Contract, Three Meals a Day), Kwak Sun-young (Hospital Playlist), Seo Hyun-woo (Flower of Evil), Joo Hyun-young (Extraordinary Attorney Woo)
Episode count: 12
Release date: November 7; new episode every Monday and Tuesday
Platform: tvN, Netflix

Reborn Rich

After being murdered at the present day, Yoon Hyun-woo is reborn in 1987 as Jin Do-joon, the youngest son of a chaebol family and the same man who killed him. Now born near the top of the food chain, he sets out to take revenge and take over the family’s company. The drama is based on a webtoon of the same name.

Cast: Song Joong-ki (Vincenzo), Shin Hyun-been (Hospital Playlist), Lee Sung-min (Misaeng: Incomplete Life)
Episode count: 16
Release date: November 18; new episode every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Platform: JTBC, Viu

The First Responders

A police officer. A firefighter. An emergency medical technician (or EMT). Whenever an emergency happens, these are the people who arrive on the scene first. The people who first respond to that call for help. That’s what this drama is all about, one that’s a fairly rare subject in the worlds of K-dramas. But it has already been given a go signal for a second season.

Cast: Kim Rae-won (Doctors), Sohn Ho-joon (Reply 1994, Three Meals a Day), Gong Seung-yeon (Are You Human?)
Episode count: 12
Release date: November 12; new episode every Saturday and Sunday
Platform: SBS, Disney+

Somebody

Despite lacking social and communication skills, a software developer is able to create Somebody, a dating app able to connect people with one another. But when a murderer uses her app to find his next targets, she finds herself out of depth in a dark world.

Cast: Kim Young-kwang (Pinnochio), Kang Hae-rim (Live On), Kim Yong-ji (The King: Eternal Monarch ), Kim Soo-yeon
Episode count: 8
Release date: November 18
Platform: Netflix

Weak Hero Class 1

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, Weak Hero Class 1 follows the story of top student Yeon Si-eun, who physically seems weak, but is able to combine his brains with various tools and psychological methods to fight against violence both in and out of school.

Cast: Park Ji-hoon (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency), Choi Hyun-wook (Twenty-Five Twenty-One), Hong Kyung (D.P.), Lee Yeon (D.P.)
Episode count: 8
Release date: November 18
Platform: Wavve

Please Send A Fan Letter

A top star suddenly finds herself in a career-ending crisis — all due to a fan letter. A desperate single father wants to grant his dying daughter’s wish, so he sends that fan letter. Romcom chaos ensues.

Cast: Sooyoung (So I Married The Anti-Fan, Run On), Yoon Park (Forecasting Love and Weather, Radio Romance)
Episode count: 4
Release date: November 18; new episode every Friday and Saturday
Platform: MBC

The Fabulous

Seoul’s fashion industry is a beautiful, dazzling, if a little chaotic, world — and so are the lives of the people working in it. Four young adults — a photographer, a PR manager, a designer, and a model — have devoted their lives to fashion and beauty. Each day, they try their best to navigate both their professional and personal lives while surviving in the competitive world of fashion.

Cast: Choi Min-ho (Hwarang, To the Beautiful You), Chae Soo-bin (I’m Not a Robot), Lee Sang-woon (Lovers of the Red Sky), Park Hee-jung
Episode count: 8
Release date: Originally slated for a November 4 premiere, the drama was postponed due to the Itaewon crowd crush tragedy. A new date is yet to be announced.
Platform: Netflix
