Running events

What says celebrating strength and womanhood more these days than joining a fun run with fellow strong women by your side? If you’re up for the challenge this month, you can check out two marathons this weekend, March 9. The BJMP4A Women’s Month Run 2025 at Greenfield City, Sta. Rosa, Laguna will have 5KM and 10KM events while the FCC Women’s Run PH at SM By the Bay starts at 1KM up to 16KM.

 

Free entrance: Tandang Sora Women’s Museum

Celebrate Women’s Month with free admission to the Tandang Sora Women’s Museum. Explore the inspiring life and powerful legacy of Filipino revolutionary Tandang Sora and the untold stories of more Filipino heroines. Visit the museum at the Tandang Sora National Shrine in Banlat Road, Quezon City, from 9 AM to 4 PM.

 

Cine Juana: Free film showing at Intramuros

Celebrate National Women’s Month in Intramuros with Cine Juana, a series of free screenings showcasing powerful Filipino films. Join the Intramuros Administration and the Film Development Council of the Philippines at Centro de Turismo Intramuros and Teatro at Fort Santiago for screenings of “INSIANG” (March 8), “MA’ROSA” (March 15), “SONATA” (March 22), and “THE CHANTERS” (March 29), all at 4:00 PM. Admission is first-come, first-served, so don’t miss this opportunity to honor women’s resilience and stories through cinema.

 

Free rides: LRT, PITX

To celebrate Women’s Month, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is offering “LIBRENG SAKAY” (free rides) exclusively for female commuters on March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2025, from 6 AM to 5 PM. This service, available at Gate 10 Bay 5, provides free transportation from PITX to MOA, continuing to Cubao Terminal, and vice versa.

 

Meanwhile, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will be offering a series of special events for women. Women can enjoy free rides on the LRT 2 on March 8, 2025, during peak hours (7-9 AM and 5-7 PM) by claiming a ticket at any station. Free haircuts will also be offered to 30 women passengers on March 12 (Antipolo), 19 (Cubao), and 26 (Recto) at their respective stations; and free roses and collaterals will be distributed to women passengers at Antipolo Station on March 5 and at selected LRT 2 stations on March 5 and 26.
