Waterparks Near Manila for Your Next Summer Escapades

It’s (sadly) time to say goodbye to the barely-there chilly weather and start to pull out our supply of cotton dresses and sandos to welcome summer. The temperature is noticeably becoming warmer and as we’re all familiar, it’s around this time of the year that plans with your barkada are drawn on the virtual canvas that is Facebook messenger.

But where better to spend the warm sultry summer days than lounging lazily or splashing wildly, in a pool or at the beach? Check out these 8 waterparks a few hours’ drive from Manila! Who knows, you might get to color that drawing one of these weekends to come.

Hotel Club Balai Isabel introduced their own aquapark only last year, an inflatable white-and-gray waterpark off the coast of Taal Lake. The tall inflatable slide was inspired by Taal itself and only the bravest and most daring of souls could try the almost 90 degree drop. But if you’re too scared, there’s also a human launcher, trampoline, a hamster wheel, and lots of walls to scale and inflatable obstacles to run through.

Other activities aside from the inflatable water park include billiards and basketball.

Perhaps the most famous water park in the country is Splash Island in Laguna. It’s one of the biggest and oldest water parks near Manila boasting of numerous breathtaking slides and tons of other activities.

Try Magellan’s Drop slide, one of the park’s highest, where you’ll have to lie on your stomach and ride a rubber carpet, the Big Bam Boo where you can ride with a partner down the covered slide, or Rio Montanosa a group activity which fits 4 people into a raft.

If you’ve had your fill of water activities, you can have a go at their zip line, rock climbing, kayaking, or mini golf.

Inflatable Island prides itself on being the biggest floating playground in Asia. Its 3,400sqm inflatable goodness is packed with activities perfect for the barkada or the family. Some of the inflatables include a human launcher, rock climbing, slides of varying heights, a high balance, and much more! This month they’re set to launch Kid Cove, a section that’s focused on being kid-friendly.

All play passes get to have access to the entire Samba beach, Bali Lounge and its many bean bags and umbrellas, and the Floating Zoo where you can chill after the activities.

 

5. White Rock Beach Hotel and Water Park, Zambales

Whiterock Hotel at Subic offer their own water activities alongside other facilities perfect for a vacation with friends or family. Their water park is composed of wave pools, infinity pools, slides, and kid-friendly obstacle courses. Visitors can choose to swim in the many pools or take a dip in the sea and try the aqua slide.

The hotel also has a family fun center with activities such as billiards, bowling, table games, basketball, and spa and KTV rooms.

Attractions at Amana Waterpark are more than the various pools they have for visitors of all ages. The waterpark is full of life-size movie characters kids will enjoy. They have their own Jurassic Water World complete with tall raptors, the cast of Shrek, Mr. Bean sitting on a bench, King Kong above the wave pool, a Minions section, and more! It’s picture taking galore for the whole family.

They also have other recreational activities like zip line, karaoke, a massage, and a virtual reality ride.

This newest waterpark in the Philippines and one of the biggest in Asia opened its doors just a few weeks ago. You can now enjoy the 10-hectare Aqua Planet in Clark, Pampanga which offers 25 modern attractions for guests of all ages. They also boast of facilities that are suitable even for the disabled.

For the adventurous squad, try Tornado where four people sit on a clover leaf-shaped raft into a giant tornado water slide. For surfers, there’s the Flow Rider, a challenging surf machine pool that will challenge your skills. Spiral Slide offers four slides with varying speed and courses, perfect for the adventurous family. And if you want to relax after all the activities, float along the 375-meter Lazy River.
